We create educational opportunities that support local people to achieve their full potential and create positive change in their communities

Our Mission in Action

Empowering Our Communities

Our mission is to create educational opportunities that support local people to achieve their full potential as creators of positive change taking informed action to affect local and global transformation.

Our Vision for the
North East Inner City

LYCS imagines a future where no person in this community is left behind; a place where future generations have opportunities to enhance their lives and act as global citizens, enriched by excellent education and humanising employment.

Who We Support

We work with people in the North Inner City throughout the course of their lives, focusing on those who are vulnerable, disenfranchised and "seldom heard", that is, living with social and economic disadvantage and the impacts this has on lives.

Explore Our Programmes

To address the diverse needs of the local community, LYCS has a variety of programmes working with participants of all ages and backgrounds.

Early Years Service

Our wonderful Early Years Service provides 5 rooms for ages 6 months to 5.5 years of age, and operates a child led approach to curriculum and planning.

Community Training Centre

Our CTC provides education and training for learners aged 16-21, focusing on vocational programmes leading to QQI Major Awards at Levels 3 and 4.

Community Employment Scheme

The LYCS CE Scheme helps people who are long-term unemployed to get back to work by offering part-time work placements in LYCS’ office, creche, and other community projects in the NEIC.

Adult Education

A wide range of groups and courses to develop skills and do something enjoyable with others in the community.

Global Citizenship Education

Exploring connections between Dublin’s inner city and the wider world through exciting, participatory programmes.
